Day 3 - The Basic Wheel

The grand physics unstuckage happened. I finally got a good enough overview that I could make something that sorta works (the platform snapping still isn't fully consistent but, it is good enough for gimmick testing purposes, and that's what counts).

The wheel:

Making the wheel was really easy and fun when I finally got to tackle the aspects what weren't related to how the player and the platforms interact. The way it works is simple as well - all you need is to give the wheel a bunch of children nodes and they'll start rotating. Funnily enough it also took no additional effort to make any node compatible with the wheel (not just the platforms). And that allows for all kinds of schenanigans like adding wheels to wheels to wheels etc. I suppose that speaks to the strengths of Godot's node system. There's a lot you could do with just this but, I have a specific use case in mind for the wheel. In the coming development days we'll see if it is even possible to use the wheel in the ways that I imagine.

I will be taking two of those three break days that I've planned for myself (sat & sun) before I come back full force.
